An Exploratory Study on The Experience of the Practical Training of Preliminary Play Therapists: Based on the Focus Group Interview

Abstract
This research study examined the experience of the practical training of preliminary play therapists, with the aim of providing a groundwork for developing professional play therapist training programs and understanding preliminary play therapist`s practical training experiences. Qualitative analysis was performed based on a focus group interview conducted with 9 preliminary play therapists who participated in a 15 weeks practical training program. The results may be summarized into 3 areas, 7 center-concepts and 15 sub-concepts. The first area is ¡°Practical training process¡± with 3 associated concepts: concept 1) Practical training ago 2) Practical training early 3) Practical training late. The second area is ¡°Parent Counseling experience¡± with 2 associated concepts: concept 1) Difficulties in counseling parents 2) changes. The third area is ¡°Training after¡± with 2 associated concepts: concept 1) Awareness of self 2) Growth as Preliminary play therapists.
